Steinberg's Kosher Bakery Reviews

I purchased some cheesecakes, a napoleon, and kipelech from here mid-February and these desserts were so delicious! The patrons were friends, but were goal oriented and wanted their treats, so they rushed in, paid for their bagels and snacks, and departed quickly. The staff were kind and efficient and the cheesecake was really creamy and tasty! The napoleon was airy and light too! I will certainly stop by again for some quality desserts!

We went about 5pm one evening. I do not know the hours during Covid. They don't seem to be posted anywhere. There was a wide selection of pastry and cookies that were all (I think) $10.49 per pound. I put them in a container, the man weighed them and I paid. No one else was in the shop, but that's ok. It is tiny. One wall with cookies. A bit of a salad bar with olives and such and that's it. All this being said, the cookies are divine. I'm going to go buy more because not buying more to begin with was a grave error. They are light and flaky and so flavorful. Buy the chocolate kind - covered with powdered sugar (that one I ate part of before snapping a photo). You will not regret it.

One of my wife's favorite hassidish bakeries in Williamsburg where she grew up. This place doesn't seem to have a sign. The chocolate kippelech are amazing. Outside this neighborhood folks call them rugulech.

Flashbacks to "the shuk" in Jerusalem...I can only imagine how busy this place is on friday afternoons. I had chocolate ruggalach...ohh goodness I am hooked!

This place has the yummiest cannolis in the area. And the woman at the counter is very nice... she recommended an odd soup that grew on me very quickly. I think it had matzo dough and vegetables, including some kind of squash -- and I had to mix it with a lighter broth... I know, right? Also they sell soda with cane sugar. I wish this place had seating. I'd love to see the kind of crowd that showed up.
